We're happy to announce that Scott Cao Violins will be entering the upcoming VSA International Violin Making Competition in Cleveland. Two of our luthiers, Jun Qiu Mai and Yufan Chen, will be representing the workshop this year.
Yufan Chen needs little introduction at this point: he's taken home the Quartet Tone Award twice already, in 2018 and again in 2024, and heads into this competition looking to build on that streak. Jun Qiu Mai joins him as part of this year's entry, bringing his own instruments to be judged alongside some of the best makers in the world.
We're proud to have two of our makers heading to Cleveland to compete, and we wish Jun Qiu Mai and Yufan Chen the best of luck in the competition.
